  • Boekenhoutskloof

    Boekenhoutskloof is an absolute must. Known in particular for its celebrated Chocolate Block — a magnificent blend that is not to be missed. Established in 1776, Boekenhoutskloof is nestled in the most secluded corner of the Franschhoek Valley. Bought and restored in 1993, the farm and estate now produces Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Semillon and Viognier. Tastings are held at 11am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Booking your visit in advance is highly recommended.

  • La Motte

    The La Motte Estate is located in the magnificent Franschhoek Valley. The estate is home to four historic monuments: the Jonkershuis, the Historic Cellar, the Water Mill and the Manor House.

  • Vrede en Lust

  • Babylonstoren

    Babylonstoren is a historic wine farm located in the Drakenstein Valley, between Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl. The estate dates back to 1692 and is one of the oldest Cape Dutch-style farms in the country. At the heart of Babylonstoren lies a kitchen garden of over 5 hectares, inspired by the historic gardens of the colonial era and described by some as the “Versailles of kitchen gardens.” It cultivates more than 300 species of fruits, vegetables, herbs and medicinal plants, with an exceptional botanical diversity.

    Perched atop a hill, only the upper level of the multi-storey structure is visible. With its octagonal shape echoing the design of the walled garden of the historic estate — originally laid out by 18th-century founder W.A. van der Stel — the viewing terrace and rooftop garden offer a 360º view over the entire estate.
